 SLASH BEER DUTY, SAY BREWERS           
                                        
 Brewers are calling on the Govjtnmjnt  
 to slash up to 26p off a pint of beet  
 to save Britain's pubs and off-licences
 from the effects of "booze cruises".   
                                        
 High excise duties and the lifting of  
 border controls amount to a "smuggler's
 charter", according to the Brewers and 
 Licensed Retailers Assocation.         
                                        
 More than 1.1m pints are brought ovjt  
 from France evjty day, the BLRA said.
