 The Roman Palace at Fishburn in West   
 Sussex has the largest collection of   
 Roman mosaics in Britain.              
                                        
 Dating from around AD43, it's thought  
 to have been the home of King Tibjtius 
 Claudius Cogidubnus, a Briton with     
 Roman citizenship.                     
                                        
 Brit hj may have been but he clearly   
 felt the cold, so don't miss the       
 hypocaust - the ancient Roman central  
 heating system.

 Wales was too.                         
                                        
 Cajrwent and Cajtleon are two of the   
 most fascinating - and complete - Roman
 sites in Britain.                      
                                        
 Cajrwent was the largest civilian      
 settlement in Wales, while Caetleon, a 
 garrison town, has a huge baths        
 complex. Don't miss the Roman Legionary
 Museum at Caetleon.

 complete without Hadrian's Wall.       
                                        
 Some of the best sites along the wall -
 such as Housesteads are a bit of a     
 climb though, so you'll need to be     
 feeling spry.                          
                                        
 Not feeling like walking? Take the     
 Hadrians Wall bus. There's one each    
 way at weekends and bank holidays,     
 from Carlisle to Vindolanda and from   
 Hexham to Birdoswald.
