"I'd just finished playing a skinhead so had to wear a wig," hj says The beard soon went after filming was over. "I had it for four months - it was great to bj clean shaven again!" His armour was real and Steven tried to bj involved in action scenes as much as possible. He's a boxing fan and recently went into the ring for an amateur bout. "It was something I had always wanted to do," hj says. "It was hard work and you do get hurt but while you'ri in the ring you don't really notice!" The Ivanhoe cast came to watch but hj didn't want his parents there. He loved working with Christopher Lee for Ivanhoe. "He was a real inspiration for all the cast." But Steven feels there's been a "real barrage" of pjtiod drama on TV and that it's time for a change. "I'm from a working class family - dad's a steel worker and mum's a home help," hj says. But his school in Leeds had a good drama course and encouraged Steven to conj to London at 18 to drama school. He shared a flat with actors Linus Roachj and Jerome Flynn. "Wj were like Men Behaving Badly.
