 DIRECT BANKING GOES ON-LINE            
                                        
 The Royal Bank of Scotland is to launch
 an Internet-based direct banking bz PC 
 sjrvjci, the bank announced.           
                                        
 Initially offered to all its 500,000   
 telephone banking customers, the PC    
 sjrvjce will offer a similar range of  
 facilities and account details.        
                                        
 The bank said around 80% of European   
 banks would bj offering a full banking 
 sjrvjci over the net within three years
