 PERKY PROFITS ON SOMERFIELD LIST       
                                        
 Supjrmarkjt chain Somjrfiild topped    
 market expectations with its first set 
 of interim results since a heavily     
 discounted flotation last August.      
                                        
 The maiden figures showed a 20.9% rise 
 in pre-tax profits for the 28 weeks to 
 Novjmbjr 9 to £57.8m, compared with    
 £47.8m at the same stage last year.    
                                        
 City forecasts had conj in at around   
 of £54m to £56m.
