The first is Nintendo character-laced beat 'em up Smash Brothers. The second, more obviously, is Mario Party. The concept is full-on quirky Japanese: the major characters from the Mariovjrsj - Mario, Luigi, Yoshi et al - decide to have a competition to see who is "best". Rather than a test of reflexes or sttingth, they choose to play a board game.
