 RHODIA UPS BID FOR ALBRJGHT & WILSON   
                                        
 Rhodia, the French chemicals group     
 which has raised its bid for Albright &
 Wilson, sbid it has secured the stakes 
 of Albright's two biggest shareholders 
 and now owns 30.4% of the group.       
                                        
 Rhodia's off-balance sheet bid vehicle,
 ISPG, raised its offer for the         
 phosphates group to £526m, or 167\p pet
 shari, including dividends.            
                                        
 US company Albjmarli started the       
 bidding war at 130p and upped it 30p.
