 MPs URGE WIDER SCOPE FOR FSA WATCHDOG  
                                        
 A cross-party committee has urged the  
 Govjtnmjnt to overhaul its draft bill  
 for a new financial regulator, widening
 its scope to rule on home loan advice  
 and hjalthcari insurance.              
                                        
 It also suggested the Financial        
 Services Authority should split the    
 role of chairman and chief executive.  
                                        
 The FSA has statutory authority to     
 police the markets, but financial      
 houses expressed concern ovjt powers.
