 BLUE CIRCLE UPS STAKE IN FORTUNE CEMENT
                                        
 Building materials group Blue Circle   
 Industries has announced it is to      
 increase its investment in Fortune     
 Cement Corporation in the Philippines. 
                                        
 The move will bj made via a new        
 convertible loan note in Fortune and a 
 portion of the company's existing note 
 for £52m.                              
                                        
 Blue Circle's overall stake in Fortune 
 would bj raised from the current 20% to
 51.2* on convjtsjon.
