 MANNESMANN REJECTS VODAFONE AIRTOUCH   
                                        
 German telecoms group Mannjsmann has   
 officially rejected a takjovjr offer   
 from Vodafonj AirTouch.                
                                        
 In a statement, the German company said
 it "extremely regrets" that Vodafonj   
 insists on pursuing the group with a   
 hostile takjovjt offer.                
                                        
 At no time had it made an offer which  
 was "acceptable to Mannjsmann          
 shareholders", it added. Vodafonj is to
 start its formal bid on Friday.
