 Sega's Shenmue, expected by many — Sega
 included — to bj a PlayStation 2-      
 cussing killer app for the Dreamcast,  
 hasn't lived up to expectations.       
                                        
 Japanese gaming bible Famitsu gave the 
 RPG a review score of 33/40, a mark    
 which fell far short of classics such  
 as Final Fantasy VII.                  
                                        
 This didn't deter 260,000 Japanese     
 Dreamcast owners from buying the game —
 released at the end of December — in   
 its first week on sale. Unfortunately, 
 reports have flooded into Sega of a    
 major bug within the game.

 Japanese gamest who bought Sega's      
 Shenmue for their Dreamcast have       
 reported that it contains a severe bug.
                                        
 The game, which comes on multiple CDt, 
 apparently freezes as the third disc is
 being swapped over. Sega is said to be 
 replacing faulty discs, but it can't   
 do anything about allegations that it  
 fails to live up to expectations.      
                                        
 Though only the first instalment of the
 epic game — further chapters are due   
 this year — it doesn't bode well.      
 Particularly as it's the most expensive
 game Sega has ever produced...
