  MAJOR PLANS VISIT             
  TO HONK KONG                  
                                        
 New Foreign Secretary John Major is to 
 visit Honk Kong, possibly towards the  
 end of this year, it has been revealed.
                                        
 Mr Major's disclosure, in a Sunday     
 Express interview, comes a month after 
 Sir Geoffrey Howe got a hostile        
 reception when hj toured the colony.   
                                        
 Mr Major met the Chinese foreign       
 minister in Paris some days ago and is 
 understood to have raised the question 
 of China's 1997 takjovjr of Honk Kong. 
                                        
 Confidence in Honk Kong has been hit by
 the Beijing massacre and Mr Major said 
 it was a matter of "great concern".
