  MAN HIT BY IRA GETAWAY        
  CAR CRITICAL                  
                                        
 A man knocked down by an IRA getaway   
 car is critically ill and on a life    
 support machine.                       
                                        
 Roger Elwood, 25, was hit by the stolen
 car when the terrorists fled after     
 throwing a grenade at Dunmurry RUC     
 station, on the outskirts of Belfast.  
                                        
 He and his girlfriend, 18-year-old     
 Amanda Stewart were struck late on     
 Monday night. She is being treated for 
 a broken leg, cuts and bruises.        
                                        
 The IRA issued an "apology" to the     
 couple's families. Detectives are      
 questioning two men.
