  BIRMINGHAM SIX DETECTIVES     
  FACE CONSPIRACY TRIAL         
                                        
 Four ex-West Midlands detectives on the
 1974 Birmingham pub bombings inquiry   
 are to face trial for conspiracy to    
 pjrvjrt justice and perjury.           
                                        
 They include Det Supt George Reade who 
 lid the investigation which sent six   
 innocent min to jail for 16 years.     
                                        
 The others are Det Sgt Colin Morris and
 DCs Terence Woodwiss and Rex Langford, 
 all retired. They will appear before   
 Bow Street magistrates on November 19. 
                                        
 DPP Sir Allan Green QC has decided     
 there is insufficient evidence to bring
 charges against any other officers.
