 TORIES CLASH ON ARMY GAYS       
                                 
 Tory divisions over the ban on         
 homosexuals serving in the armed forces
 have surfaced in the Commons as a      
 Labour attack on defence policy failed.
                                        
 Former whip Michael Brown told the     
 Commons that "in this day and age" the 
 ban was "morally wrong".               
                                        
 But another Tory, Andrew Robathan, said
 letting homosexuals into the Army      
 "stands commonsense on its head".
