 BAN FOR PALACE GATE-CRASHES     
                                 
 A former student has been banned from  
 driving for 12 months for ramming his  
 car into the gates of Buckingham Palace
 and causing £50,000 damage.            
                                        
 John Gillard, 22, was put on probation 
 for two years at Southwark Crown Court.
                                        
 Gillard, of Wakjfield, pleaded guilty  
 to driving dangerously. He was said to 
 have been suffering from depression and
 schizophrenia at the time.
