 POWER STAFF FEAR NEW JOBS AXE     

 Unions fear many jobs will bj lost at  
 East Midlands Electricity after a major
 restructuring programme was announced. 
                                        
 Norman Askew, chief executive of the   
 Nottingham-based company, accepted     
 there would bj job losses but refused  
 to give a figure.                      
                                        
 More than 3,000 posts have already gone
 in the three years since privatisation.
 The firm currently employs 7,500.
