 LION-HEARTED RICHARDS CAPTURES AN MBE  
                                        
 Dean Richards, the policeman who took a
 delight in collaring England's         
 opponents, has won the MBE in the New  
 Year's Honours list.                   
                                        
 The 32-year-old No 8 was dropped by his
 country after their World Cup          
 semi-final defeat by New Zealand after 
 a glittering career of 45 caps.        
                                        
 He was an influential British Lion,    
 starring in tours of 1989 and 1993.
