 GRIM TRADING UPDATE AT BRIDON          
                                        
 Wire rope producer Bridon warned the   
 group's 1995 profits were likely to    
 fall short of the level seen in 1994.  
                                        
 It said the main factors to blame wetj 
 significantly reduced profitability at 
 Bridon Cordage (USA) and recent losses 
 at its Australian textile subsidiary.  
                                        
 Delays in the completion of a major    
 bridge and djfetral of deliveries of   
 crane rope and wire were also factors.
