 WAITING LEST TARGET "NO GIMMICK" 
                                 
 Health Secretary Frank Dobson has      
 denied the Government's drive to cut   
 NHS waiting lists was a gimmick.       
                                        
 Mr Dobson stressed his determination to
 reduce the numbers waiting for         
 treatment by 200,000.                  
                                        
 He said Government funding — including 
 a Budget boost of £500m to get waiting 
 lists down by 100,000 by April next    
 year — would bring "dramatic" results.
