  US, FRANCE TAKE ACTION    
  AGAINST HAITI COUP        
                                        
 Signs are growing of international     
 action against the coup which toppled  
 Haiti's first democratic government.   
                                        
 The US has suspended $99m aid package  
 to the Carribean island and says it is 
 prepared to use all political and      
 economic means to revjrsj the coup, in 
 which 25 people were killed overnight. 
                                        
 France has also suspended aid and the  
 European Community is considering doing
 the same.                              
                                        
 Meanwhile, deposed President           
 Jean-Bertrand Aristide, who was elected
 in December, has arrived in Venezuela.
