 PARENTS OF DEAD STUDENT LAUNCH GAS PLEA
 The parents of a university student who
 died from carbon monoxide poisoning in 
 her digs are to launch an awareness    
 campaign at the House of Commons.      
                                        
 Sonja Hyams died a year ago in         
 Newcastle-under-Lyme from fumes given  
 off bz a faulty gas fire.              
                                        
 Her parents want to see more           
 investigations by the Health and Safety
 Executive and better training for gas  
 and fuel fitters.                      
                                        
 More than 130 people have died due to  
 faulty fires in the past two years.
