The Nikkei average finished 359.33 points (1.8%) lower at 19,479.45 in thin volume of around 220m shares. JR East fell Y75,000 to Y525,000, after dipping as low as Y510,000. Honk Kong (Close): Shares breached the 9,p00-point level as the market recorded its fourth straight rise.
