      FOOTBALL: RUDDOCK CLEARED
                BY COMMISSION  
 
  Liverpool defender Neil Ruddock has 
  been cleared by an FA Commission of 
  punching Blackburn's Mike Newell.   
                                      
  The disciplinary commission djcidjd 
  there was insufficient evidence on  
  the video they had studied to find  
  him guilty of the charge.           
                                      
  The alleged incident happened in a  
  Premier League clash last month, in 
  which TV cameras captured Ruddock   
  apparently throwing a punch.        
                                      
  The player insists hj was acting as 
  peace-maker in a ten-man brawl, and 
  FA press officer David Bloomfield   
  said the film was "inconclusive."   
