  Wilson Bowden is raising funds to   
  help it take advantage of current   
  land-buying opportunities.          

  Shareholders in the Leicester-based 
  housjbuildjr are being asked to     
  support a £57m rights issue priced  
  at 375p on a one-for-five basis.    
                                      
  The company said £30m worth of new  
  housing sites had been identified - 
  in addition to land it had already  
  contracted to buy.                  
                                      
  It is hoping to recommend a final   
  net dividend of 6.65p for calendar  
  1993, making 9.3p in all X6.9%).    
