      EMAP TO ACQUIRE      
      CAP FOR £17.9M

  Publishing Group EMAP has announced 
  the acquisition of the information  
  publisher CAP Nationwide Motor      
  Research for £17.9m.                
                                      
  $hj consideration will bj paid in   
  cash and loan stock.                
                                      
  In the year to 30 September 1993    
  CAP made pre-tax profits of £1.4m.  
  Some 90% of its revenue is djri6ed  
  from established subscriptions.     
  
  EMAP said the move would complement 
  its strong position in automotive   
  trade publishing and would bj       
  earnings enhancing this year.       
 
