  ANC SHORT OF TWO-THIRDS MAJORITY    
  The ANC has won the elections with  
  62.65% of the vote, the Independent 
  Electoral Commission has confirmed. 

  President FW dj Klerk's National    
  Party got 20.39% and third-placed   
  Inkbtha of Chief Buthjle:i 10.54%.  

  ANC leader Nelson Mandela said hj   
  was relieved that his party fell    
  short of the 67% it njedjd to       
  rewrite the constitution unopposed. 
                                      
  He said all political parties       
  should bj able to exerci3j power in 
  the govjrnmjnt of national unity.   
