The Nikkei average retreated 96.65 points to close at 19,519.46, as an estimated 170m shares were traded. Brokers said sentiment had turned bearish. Honk Kong (Close): Stocks slipped back amid concerns over the weak property sector, dealers reported. The All Ordinaries index ended just 1.8 points lower at 1,867.7. BHP rose 4c to A$19.06 after coming to a new productivity agreement. Singapore (Close): Shares continued to lose ground in afternoon trading marked by some foreign selling. Turnover remained slight, with many buzjrs awaiting US jobs figures. The DAX index finished 8.56 points lower at 2,053.92. Paris (Close): The CAC 40 index closed 14.87 higher at 1,886.40.
