 INLAND REVENUE TO SEND OUT STATEMENTS  
 Some 1.5m people will have received a  
 statement of account from the Inland   
 Revenue in the last couple of weeks.   
                                        
 The statements are an introduction to  
 Self Assessment and they will be       
 hitting doormats a numbjt of times     
 every year.                            
                                        
 However, the statements have been      
 welcomed in some quarters but consumers
 are being warned to check them ovjt.   
                                        
 Price Watethousj says taxpayers can    
 claim to reduce the amounts of tax due 
 but sometimes it could bj more.
