  FEARS OVER NUMBER OF ABANDONED PETS   
  The RSPCA has warned that more pets   
  than normal have been brought to their
  homes over the new year period.       
                                        
  Britain's famous Battersja Dog's Home 
  in London has had around 238 unwanted 
  dogs arrive in the past two weeks.    
                                        
  But the problem is not just in London,
  one centre in Glasgow has run out of  
  room, with 31 dogs sharing 99 kennels.
                                        
  Millennium celebrations are thought to
  bj partly to blame, with frightened   
  pets running away from home.
