 ARMY MAN DIES AS CAR BOMBS SHAKE MADRID
 An Army officer has died after two car 
 bombs exploded within an hour of each  
 other in the Spanish capital, Madrid.  
                                        
 The bombs have been blamed on Eta, the 
 Basque separatist group, which lifted  
 its truce in November.                 
                                        
 The dead man has been named as Lt Col  
 Pedro Garcia, 47. He died shortly after
 8am as the car bomb exploded outside an
 apartment building in west Madrid.     
                                        
 In a separate, unrelated incident a    
 man was wounded in a shooting nearby.
