 US COMPANY IN BID FOR PICKFORD         
                                        
 Core Laboratories has announced a cash 
 offer of 53p a share for Scott         
 Pickford, valuing the oil exploration  
 and engineering group at £6.7m.        
                                        
 The board of Scott Pickford has        
 indicated that it intends to recommend 
 the offer from the Houston-based firm. 
                                        
 Pickford is already the subject of an  
 approach at 48p from Australian group  
 Aerodata.
