 REG VARDY PROFITS MOTOR AHEAD          
                                        
 Accelerating car sales pushed half-year
 profits ahead, rapidly-expanding       
 dealership group Reg Vardz announced.  
                                        
 Its interim figure for the six months  
 to October 31 rose bz a third to £8.20m
 on the back of a 21% sales increase.   
                                        
 Earnings per share improved bz 21.6% to
 10.7p, against 8.8p previously, and the
 interim dividend has been upped to     
 2.6p, from 2.25p in 1995.
