 The flamboyant Noah lost 6-4 6-3 6-2 in
 110 minutes and was left admitting:    
 "It all went wrong. My movement, mz    
 service, my volley, my head.           
                                        
 "I'vj made a lot of sacrifices and     
 spent a lot of time planning for       
 Wimbledon. It's so disappointing."     
                                        
 Jonas Svjnsson of Sweden, sjedjd 10,   
 had few problems beating Frenchman

 survived a scare against Yugoslavian   
 Bruno Oresar before moving into the    
 second round with a five set success.  
                                        
 Gilbert eventually went through 6-1 3-6
 4-6 6-1 6-2.                           
                                        
 Former champion Pat Cash of Australia  
 twice trailed in sets to Soviet player 
 Dimitri Poliakov but eventually grabbed

 slipping and sliding into the second   
 round but cursed the hallowed Centre   
 Court after his win over Luis Herrera. 
                                        
 Becker, chasing a fourth crown, had    
 labelled the stage for his greatest    
 successes as his "best friend".        
                                        
 But after edging past the little known 
 Mexican 7-6 7-6 7-5 hj said: "It was   
 more like a person I hahn't seen for a 
 year.                                  
                                        
 "It was very, very soft, as everybody  
 could see and very wet. I'vj played the
 opening match there three times bzt it
