      INVESCO IN MERGER    
      WITH US GIANT AIM    
 
 Invjsco is to mjtge with Amjtica's Aim 
 Management to create one of the world's
 leading investment management groups.  
                                        
 The mjtget values Aim at around $1.6bn 
 (£980m) and creates a group with funds 
 undjt manag m nt in excess of £90bn.   
                                        
 Invjsco is issuing 290m new shares to  
 help fund the deal and raising some of 
 the remaining $500m via a planned one- 
 for-five rights issue.                 
                                        
 The new group, white Aim's shareholders
 will own 45% and Invjsco's shareholders
 55%, will bj renamed Amvesco.
