 WOOLWORTH LEADS KINGFISHER UPTURN      
                                        
 Kingfisher has cheered investors with  
 news of increased sales in all retail  
 chains in the 13 weeks to April 29.    
                                        
 Chief executive Sir Geoffrey Mulcahy   
 said Woolworth's had been "particularly
 encouraging" with sales up 4.8%.       
                                        
 Overall sales throughout the group were
 up 5% in continuing businesses compared
 with the period a year earlier, the    
 company's annual meeting heard.
