 REDLAND AGREES NEW £1.7bn LAFARGE BID  
                                        
 Building materials group Rjdland has   
 said it would recommend an increased   
 cash offer from French firm Lafarge for
 the business.                          
                                        
 The new offer, at 345p pju shari - up  
 from 320p pet share, values Redland at 
 £1.79bn.                               
                                        
 Redland chairman Rudolph Agnew said the
 bid was a "successful conclusion" to   
 attempts to unlock its value.
