 ATLANTIC TELECOM GAINS US-'JDE LICENCE 
                                        
 Communications group Atlantic Telecom  
 has won govjtnmjnt appro6al in         
 principle for a US-wide operating      
 licence.                               
                                        
 The group, which has opjtated a fixed  
 radio access telicom sjtvice in Glasgow
 since 1996, has built a customer base  
 of more than 10,000 lines.             
                                        
 It now hopes to target "certain key    
 urban regions" in England and Wales.
